•California winemaker Sam Spencer has partnered with Bill Price of Classic Wines and Price Family Vineyards for the launch of Head High Wines. The surf-inspired wine brand will include a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ($35), a North Coast Red Blend ($30) and a Sonoma Coast Rosé ($24). Case production is currently estimated to be about 7,000 cases, with plans to grow the brand over the next several years. For every two bottles of Head High Wines sold, the company will donate $1 to the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation. Spencer is a former director of winegrowing for Cameron Hughes Wine and co-founder of California’s Spencer-Roloson Winery, a grower of Bordeaux, Rhône and Iberian varietals. He also owns and oversees farming at Madder Lake Vineyard in Lake County. In addition to being proprietor of Classic Wines and Price Family Vineyards, Price is also chairman of Gary Farrell Winery.

•Proximo Spirits has extended its “Enough Said” campaign with a new video series featuring actors Ray Liotta and Michael K. Williams (of HBO’s The Wire). Created by the VIA Agency, the series includes two spots: one each following Liotta and Williams respectively in their New York neighborhoods as they discuss the values that formed them. Concurrently, 1800 is introducing new bottle closures in May: metalized caps for its Silver, Coconut and Reposado variants and a dark wood cap for its Añejo. The new closures are intended to deliver a sleeker, more modern look for the brand.

•Bocelli Family Wines is adding a Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie IGT to its lineup in the U.S. market. Produced at the Terre Gaie winery in Italy’s Padova province, the new entry retails at $14 and is available nationwide, alongside Bocelli’s existing Sangiovese IGT ($19) and Prosecco DOC ($19). The Bocelli brand, produced by singer Andrea Bocelli and his family—which has been making wine for 130 years—is based in Tuscany. In the U.S., the brand is handled by Seattle-based August Wine Group (formerly Small Vineyards).
