Exclusive: Patrick Piana Named CEO Of Stoli Group USAMay 6, 2015
Stoli Group USA has tapped drinks industry veteran Patrick Piana as its new chief executive, Shanken News Daily has learned. Effective August 1, Piana succeeds John Esposito, who was promoted to chairman of Stoli Group USA in February. In his new role, Piana will be responsible for leading Stoli’s activities in the U.S. and Canada.
Piana has spent 18 years in the drinks business, including senior positions with Moët Hennessy, Schieffelin & Somerset, Pernod Ricard and Rémy Martin. Most recently, he was COO of Laureate International, a leader in the higher education industry.
Piana joins a Stoli USA organization that has been on the rise lately. Core brand Stolichnaya vodka increased 6% to 1.6 million cases in the U.S. in 2014, according to Impact Databank, reversing a period of decline over the previous five years.
Beyond its flagship vodka, Esposito recently told SND that Stoli USA is planning on “adding appropriate premium brands to our portfolio, either in an agency relationship or a partnership, in addition to acquiring brands that fit our needs.”
