•Craft beermaker Berghoff Brewery, a producer of classic root beer for more than 85 years, is introducing its first hard, or alcoholic, root beer in July. It will be called Rowdy Root Beer and brewed at 6.6% abv from a flavorless porter mixed with root beer flavorings, according to the Chicago company, which reports that owner Ben Minkoff headed a team of development specialists who created 15 different prototypes before settling on a final recipe. It will be sold in six-packs of 12-oz. cans and on draft in select Chicago bars.

•Massachusetts importer Global Beer Network has launched Sour Power Pack, a new variety six-pack. Featuring four Petrus sour beers from Belgium’s De Brabandere Brewery, the pack includes three bottles of Petrus Aged Pale and one bottle each of Petrus 50/50, Petrus Oud Bruin and Petrus Aged Red. According to Global Beer Network, the Sour Power Pack is designed for blending, with consumers encouraged to mix the beers and create unique sour combinations. Priced at $22.99, the six-pack is available at craft beer retailers across the country.

•Vancouver, Canada-based Bomber Brewing, established in early 2014, has introduced a new summer seasonal, Park Life Passionfruit Ale. The newcomer, which joins a trend of fruit-flavored beer releases, is 4.5% abv and will be in distribution through the summer season on draught and in six-packs of cans. Park Life Passionfruit Ale joins a Bomber portfolio whose year-round offerings include a Pilsner, ESB, IPA and Marzen (the first three of which are available in a mixed pack). Bomber Brewing expects to produce about 9,000 barrels this year.
