Chivas Brothers Opens New Dalmunach Distillery In Speyside

Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers unit has upped its Scotch whisky production capacity with the opening of its new Dalmunach distillery in Speyside. Developed on an investment of £25 million ($40m), Dalmunach has a capacity of 10 million liters annually.

Located near Carron at the site of the former Imperial Distillery, which had been out of use since 1998, Dalmunach will support global demand for the Chivas Brothers Scotch whisky stable, which includes the Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s and Royal Salute brands. The opening of Dalmunach completes a three-year, £60-million ($95m) expansion initiative by Chivas Brothers that has raised its malt whisky distillation capacity by 17%.
