Wagner’s Copper Cane To Launch Beran Napa Zinfandel
June 24, 2015Napa Valley-based producer and marketer Copper Cane Wines & Provisions, owned and operated by Joseph Wagner, is extending its lineup with a new Napa Valley Zinfandel under its Beran brand. The Zinfandel-driven Beran (Old English for “bear”) recently debuted with a California Zinfandel retailing around $22 a bottle. Next month, it will follow with the aforementioned Napa Valley offering ($45), which draws on noteworthy Zin sources like Atlas Peak and eastern Calistoga. A Sonoma Zinfandel, meanwhile, is slated to join the Beran portfolio later this year.
In addition to Beran, Copper Cane’s portfolio includes Meiomi Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the Carne Humana red blend from Napa Valley and Oregon Pinot Noir label Elouan. The super-premium Meiomi is an Impact “Hot Brand” that rose 41% to 550,000 cases last year.
