June 30, 2015•Sierra Nevada Brewing Company has partnered with Germany’s Brauhaus Riegele on the first offering in what will be a recurring Oktoberfest series. Beginning this year, Sierra Nevada will partner with a different German brewery on an Oktoberfest brew each fall. The inaugural collaborative Oktoberfest beer with Riegele will be available in the U.S. from August-October. It’s a 6%-abv brew that will roll out in six- and 12-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on draft.
•Portland, Oregon’s Hopworks Urban Brewery is releasing three rotating summer seasonals: Pig War White IPA, Ace of Spades Imperial IPA and IPX Single Hop Ale Simcoe. Pig War White IPA (6% abv) is brewed with Hard Red Spring Wheat grown on the company’s farm on San Juan Island as well as Northwest hops and is available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans, 22-ounce bottles and on draft. Organic Ace of Spades (8.9% abv) features Northwest hops added at every step in brewing, and IPX Simcoe (6% abv) is the latest in Hopworks’ single hop series with Simcoe hops from Loftus Ranches in Yakima, Washington. Both Ace of Spades and IPX Simcoe are available in 22-ounce bottles and on draft throughout the Pacific Northwest.
