Exclusive: Lee Einsidler Leaving Sidney Frank To Head Up Import Company For Casamigos

July 9, 2015

Lee Einsidler, longtime CEO of Sidney Frank Importing, is leaving to head up a new company, Casamigos Importing, which will be the exclusive national importer and marketer of Casamigos Tequila, formerly represented by Sidney Frank.

Casamigos, the upscale Tequila concept owned by actor George Clooney, nightlife entrepreneur Rande Gerber and real estate mogul Mike Meldman, is one of the hottest upscale Tequilas on the market. The brand more than doubled its volume to 45,000 cases in 2014 and is projected to hit 95,000 cases this year, according to Impact Databank. Sidney Frank, which was recently acquired by Germany’s Mast-Jägermeister SE, had been Casamigos’ importer since April of last year.

Einsidler joined Sidney Frank Importing in 1991 as national sales manager and rose to executive vice president of sales and marketing in 1995. He became CEO a decade later. While at Sidney Frank, he was instrumental in the success of the Jägermeister bitter brand, and also led the team that built Grey Goose vodka. He was directly involved in the $2 billion sale of Grey Goose to Bacardi Ltd. in 2004.
