•Texas-based JEM Beverage Company is extending its Western Son Vodka brand with a new Prickly Pear flavor. Western Son’s latest offering joins existing Blueberry, Grapefruit and Peach flavors and will be available throughout Texas. Meanwhile, JEM Beverage has announced it’s moving to a new 30,000-square-foot distillery in Pilot Point, Texas. The new space features entertainment and tasting areas in addition to a 600-gallon pot still and doubled bottling capacity. JEM Beverage’s portfolio—which also includes the Brazos Gin, Red River whiskey, South House moonshine and Stingray spiced rum brands—is currently available across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Nevada and Massachusetts.
•Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing Co. has released The Pit & The Pendulum, a new limited offering in its Cork & Cage series. The Pit & The Pendulum is a Belgian-style ale brewed with peaches and Brettanomyces yeast, which can be consumed immediately or laid down to further develop via bottle conditioning. SweetWater debuted its Cork & Cage series this year to experiment with limited barrel-aged beers, sours and wild ales packaged in 750-ml. bottle format.
•Tempe, Arizona-based Four Peaks Brewing Company is adding a White Ale to its core lineup next month. The Belgian-inspired witbier (5.4% abv) is brewed with locally sourced citrus and Sonoran White Wheat. Four Peaks White Ale will be available year-round on draft throughout Arizona through Hensley Beverage Company. Meanwhile, Four Peaks Hefeweizen will be moving to the brewer’s limited Single Tank Series, which consists of specialty ales and lagers released in one 40-barrel batch at a time.
