•Rudy Kurniawan is fighting an uphill battle to have his conviction for counterfeiting wine tossed out. Lawyers for the 38-year-old Indonesian submitted their final brief to a New York federal appeals court last week. A panel of appellate judges is expected to hear oral arguments on the case in December. Wine Spectator has a full update.

•Upstate New York’s Hazlitt’s Orchard and Cider Crafters is launching its first seasonal hard cider, Cider Tree Cinnamon Spice. Made with fresh-pressed New York state apples and real cinnamon and nutmeg, Cider Tree Cinnamon Spice is rolling out this month. Orchard and Cider Crafters is a subsidiary of Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards.
