•Atlanta, Georgia’s SweetWater Brewing Company is expanding its East Coast presence with entry into New York City, Connecticut and central Pennsylvania. Manhattan Beer Distributors will handle SweetWater’s craft beer lineup in New York City, while Star Distributors and A. Gallo & Company will distribute in western Connecticut and Wilsbach Distributors will service central Pennsylvania. In June, the fast-growing craft brewer partnered with Peerless Beverage for distribution in northern New Jersey, and with Muller Inc. for the Philadelphia area. SweetWater is continuing its geographic expansion following a $19 million investment that it says will allow it to keep up with demand.

•New York-based Bronx Brewery is releasing a limited edition El Serrano Red IPA to the greater New York City market. Made with Serrano peppers grown locally from 23 Bronx community gardens, the 9%-abv red ale is available on draft in major accounts across New York City, select New Jersey and Westchester locations this fall. Earlier this year, Bronx Brewery sold a minority stake to investment group Tenth Avenue Holdings LLC in a deal that will allow it to grow operations and capacity with new brewing equipment, as well as extend its distribution footprint.

•Pennsylvania’s Victory Brewing is returning its Moonglow Weizenbock seasonal brew now through November. The 8.7% abv beer, which features two different types of malted yeast, will be sold on tap and in 12-ounce four-packs retailing at $9.99. Moonglow Weizenbock is rolling out across Victory’s 36-state footprint.
