•Eugene, Oregon’s Ninkasi Brewing Company is expanding its East Coast presence with entry into the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia markets next month. Sheehan Family Companies will handle the brewer’s portfolio in each of the new markets (through its Legends Ltd. Distributing in D.C. and Maryland, and Specialty Beverage in Virginia). Ninkasi’s full-time East Coast presence began this month with entry into New York. Its year-round Flagship Series includes Total Domination IPA, Tricerahops Double IPA, Dawn of the Red IRA, Lux Helles Lager, Oatis Oatmeal Stout and Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout.

•Michigan-based Bell’s Brewery will begin packaging its Hopslam Ale exclusively in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and kegs for the beer’s next annual January release. The 10%-abv double IPA, brewed with Michigan honey, had previously been marketed in bottles. Hopslam will be Bell’s sixth beer packaged in cans. The company is expanding its Comstock brewery with a new bottling hall set to triple the speed of its current bottling line. That project is slated for completion next year.
