November 5, 2015•Athens, Georgia’s Terrapin Beer Company has partnered with fellow Georgia company Richland Distilling for the release of Richland Reserve Double IPA. The 12%-abv brew is the first offering in Terrapin’s Ales from the Woods series. To create the new DIPA, Terrapin’s Hopzilla beer was rested in newly emptied Richland rum barrels for more than a year. Richland Reserve DIPA will be available in 22-ounce bottles in limited quantities throughout Georgia beginning later this month. Terrapin is minority-owned by MillerCoors.
•Driggs, Idaho-based Grand Teton Distillery has appointed 25-year craft brewing and spirits industry veteran Tim Harland as executive vice president of sales and marketing. Harland previously worked for two decades at Jackson Hole, Wyoming-based Snake River Brewing and after that was national sales manager role at Kirby-based Wyoming Whiskey. Grand Teton produces vodka, Bourbon and moonshine made from local and regional ingredients. It operates a second facility in Alta, Wyoming and also plans to open a distillery in Alpine, Wyoming to increase production.
