•Total Wine & More is scouting potential locations in the Nashville, Tennessee area according to local news reports. Company spokesman Edward Cooper told the Nashville Post that Total Wine sees Nashville as “potentially a great market for us, and we want to have a site as soon as possible.” Total Wine—which is expected to have 130 stores across 18 states by year-end—currently does not have a presence in Tennessee, with its closest locations situated in Atlanta.

•Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA has appointed Denver- and Napa-based Curious Cork Imports as the exclusive U.S. importer and distributor of its La Capitelle du Domaine de Baron’arques wine ($35) from the Languedoc. Baron Philippe de Rothschild acquired Domaine de Baron’arques, located near Limoux, in 1998. Curious Cork will also import and distribute Domaine de Baron’arques premium red wine as well as its Chardonnay—both retailing at $65 a bottle—on a non-exclusive basis.

•Contract spirits producer MGP Ingredients saw net sales rise 4% to $246 million in the first nine months of 2015, with operating income nearly tripling to $23 million. Sales within the company’s “distillery products” segment grew 5% to $67 million in the third quarter, and MGP president and CEO Gus Griffin noted that the company remains well-positioned given “the growth of the whiskey category and premiumization of the beverage alcohol industry.”
