Gruppo Campari Sales Rise 4% In U.S., As Wild Turkey, Jamaican Rums Make Gains

November 11, 2015

Gruppo Campari saw solid progress across much of its U.S. portfolio in the nine months through September, leading to a 4% increase in sales. The Italian company noted that Wild Turkey and Jamaican rums Appleton Estate and Wray & Nephew were on the upswing in the U.S. during the period, as was its stable of Italian aperitifs, led by Aperol and Campari. Espolòn Tequila and liqueurs Frangelico and Carolans likewise showed strong growth, while shipments of Skyy vodka—the company’s largest brand stateside—were roughly flat. However, Skyy demonstrated better trends in terms of underlying depletions and consumption, the group said. Globally, Gruppo Campari recorded a 2.5% organic sales increase to €1.1 billion ($1.2b) for the nine months through September.
