•Hood River, Oregon’s Full Sail Brewing Company is releasing its newest Session series beer, Session Wheat American-style Hefeweizen. The 5.4%-abv offering features aromas of malted wheat with a hop finish, the company says. Session Wheat Premium Hefeweizen is available year-round in the Session series’ 11-ounce bottles in six- and 12-packs and on draft. The newcomer joins a Full Sail Session Series that also includes Cream Summer Ale, Premium Lager, Fest, Export, Black and IPA offerings. Full Sail agreed last March to be acquired by Oregon Craft Brewers Co., a group composed of local Oregon investors and San Francisco private equity Encore Consumer Capital.
•California’s Coronado Brewing Co. is set to unveil its latest Crown Series offering, Imperial Blue Bridge Coffee Stout. A winter seasonal, the 8% abv newcomer is made with two-row malt, Northern Brewer hops, roasted barley and Guatemalan coffee. Imperial Blue Bridge Coffee Stout is hitting shelves across 11 states this month in 22-ounce bottles and on draught.
•Paso Robles, California-based Firestone Walker Brewing Company is introducing Nitro Merlin Milk Stout, a nitro version of its Velvet Merlin oatmeal stout. The launch represents the company’s first broad release of a nitro beer. It’s brewed in the same manner as the company’s winter seasonal Velvet Merlin but with the addition of non-fermentable lactose sugar, which converts it to a milk stout. Nitro Merlin will be available on draft year-round across Firestone Walker’s distribution footprint.Subscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
