Strong Third Quarter Propels Rémy Cointreau To Marked Sales Growth
January 21, 2016Solid organic growth in its fiscal third quarter and favorable exchange rates propelled Rémy Cointreau to double-digit sales growth in the first nine months of its current fiscal year.Driven by flagship brand Rémy Martin’s 6.4% organic growth in its third quarter (ending December 31, 2015), Rémy Cointreau enjoyed 3.2% organic growth in the three-month period, a dramatic improvement over its first half, when organic sales declined by 5.9%. On a reported basis, the company’s sales were up by 10.9% in the third quarter, and are up by 7.9% to €799.2 million ($862.9m) through the first nine months of Rémy’s 2015-2016 fiscal year. While flagship Cognac brand Rémy Martin continues to struggle in China—which has accounted for around one-third of its global business in recent years—it has been thriving in the Americas region.
