Beso del Sol Sangria Projecting 300,000 Cases For 2016

January 22, 2016

After receiving new capital funding last year, bag-in-box sangria brand Beso del Sol has ambitious growth plans for 2016. Beso del Sol, a Spanish import that includes both red and white sangrias, retails at around $20 a three-liter box, with the red variant also distributed in a 1.5-liter bottle format. Launched in 2013, Beso del Sol (8.5% abv), which is now in national distribution, sold 70,000 nine-liter cases last year. For 2016, the brand is projected to hit 300,000 cases, driven by expansion in the on-premise national account channel as well as entry into 1,100 Publix and Winn-Dixie supermarkets in the Southeast. A joint venture between Arctic Beverage and L&B LLC, the brand received the backing of SoBe Beverage founder John Bello last year. Bello, who now serves as Beso del Sol’s chairman, sold the SoBe juice and tea brand to Pepsi in 2001 for $370 million.
