Publix To Make Virginia Debut Next Year

Publix Super Markets Inc. has announced plans to enter Virginia with the opening of two new stores. The first outpost, located in Bristol, will span 54,000 square feet and is projected to open in the fourth quarter of 2017. The second store, expected to open by 2018, will be located in Glen Allen and total 49,000 square feet. Virginia marks the seventh state in Publix’s footprint, joining the retailer’s existing reach of roughly 1,113 stores across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina.
