•Sebastopol, California-based Ace Cider has invested $1 million in its operations as part of an effort to double its capacity to meet rising demand. Upgrades include expanded bottling capacity and the planting of several hundred Gravenstein apple trees to meet the cidery’s local fruit needs. Ace currently produces half a million cases of cider annually, and projects its output will double by 2019, with growth currently tracking at above 30%. This spring, the company will roll out select Ace Ciders in canned format. Ace’s lineup includes Apple Honey, Berry and Pineapple Ciders, among other specialty offerings.

•Escondido, California’s Stone Brewing is releasing its newest limited seasonal, Stone Americano Stout. Brewed with 250 lbs. of whole espresso-roast coffee beans for every 120-barrel batch, the brew features Amarillo, Cascade, Chinook and Columbus hops. Stone Americano Stout (8.7% abv) will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on draft through May. This spring, Stone expects to begin brewing at its new production brewery and restaurant in Richmond, Virginia.
