Pernod Shuffles Executives, With Duffy Returning To U.S.

February 11, 2016

Pernod Ricard announced a series of executive changes this morning as it released its results for the half-year through December. Among them, Paul Duffy, currently chairman and CEO of the Absolut Company, has been named chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard North America and CEO of Pernod Ricard USA. Current Americas chairman Philippe Dreano has decided to retire after 27 years with Pernod. Meanwhile, current U.S. CEO Bryan Fry will become managing director, Pernod Ricard Pacific. The changes are effective July 1.

The move marks a return to the U.S. for Duffy, who led Pernod’s business in the States from 2008-2012.

In addition, Pernod has streamlined its Americas region to strengthen its focus on the U.S. and Canada, creating a North America unit, while folding Mexico, Brazil and others into its EMEA division.

Pernod’s U.S. sales rose 3% in the six months through December, the company’s fiscal first half. We’ll have more on the group’s results and its management changes in today’s SND.
