Christian Moueix Launches New Upscale Napa Label, Ulysses

February 19, 2016

Bordeaux and California winemaker Christian Moueix is launching Ulysses, a new Napa Valley wine produced at the Ulysses Vineyard in Oakville, which Moueix acquired in 2008. The brand includes an estate-bottled Cabernet Sauvignon, with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Situated at the foot of the Mayacamas Range, the historic vineyard has undergone a restoration since Moueix’s purchase. Ulysses 2012 ($179) will be distributed by Dreyfus, Ashby & Company in the U.S. to 23 states. Mouiex and his son, Edouard, also produce wine from their Dominus Estate in the Napa Valley in addition to eight family chateaus in Pomerol and Saint Emilion.
