Provence Rosé Exports To The U.S. Up 58% In 2015

Rosé wine exports from Provence to the U.S. grew 58% by volume and 74% by value in 2015, according to the French customs agency and the CIVP/Vins de Provence trade group. The rise marks the largest increase in Provence rosé wine exports to the U.S. since 2001, as well as the 12th consecutive year of double-digit growth for the segment. Provence rosé slightly outpaced the overall imported rosé category, with imported rosé priced over $12 up 56.4% by volume and 60.4% by value last year, according to Nielsen data. Provence rosé currently accounts for around 42.4% of all French rosé volume sold in the U.S. and 29.7% of all imported rosé sold at U.S. retail by volume.
