March 25, 2016•Schlafly Beer is introducing a limited-release Double Bean Blonde ale rested on cacao nibs and infused with a cold coffee toddy. The 6.3% abv brew, unusual for its pairing of a blonde beer with coffee and chocolate, is rolling out on draft and in six-packs of bottles ($10) across Schlafly’s 15-market U.S. footprint. St. Louis-based Schlafly recently announced an expansion project that will increase its production capacity from its current 60,000 barrels to 90.000 barrels by next year.
•Fort Collins, Colorado-based New Belgium Brewing Company has released the latest offering in its Hop Kitchen series, Botanical Imperial IPA. It’s brewed with Bravo, Cascade, Sterling and Willamette hops along with essential oils from basil, sage and juniper. Botanical Imperial IPA (8.5% abv) is available on draft only through mid-April. New Belgium releases a new limited edition brew under the Hop Kitchen banner quarterly.
