•Northern California’s Timberlane LLC, producer of Arkansas Black Straight Applejack (98 proof, $55) and the very limited Twenty-One Year Straight Applejack (92 proof/$125) has expanded distribution beyond California to both Texas and Massachusetts, with plans for additional markets to follow later this year. Both SKUs are currently available across Texas, distributed by AB Foods of Dallas. In Massachusetts, Burke Distributing Corp. will distribute Timberlane’s Applejacks throughout the state beginning this spring.
•Lexington, Virginia-based Devils Backbone Brewing Company is rolling out two new spring seasonals—Cattywompus and Trail Angel Weiss. Cattywompus, a 7.5% abv Belgian Pale Ale, is joining the brewer’s Trail Blazer Series, launching in bottles and on draft throughout Devils Backbone’s distribution footprint of Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia. Trail Angel Weiss is a Bavarian-style Hefeweizen (4.7% abv) and the newest addition to the company’s canned Daypack Series of session beers. Trail Angel will be available through July in cans and on draft.
