Pernod Ricard USA Unveils Reorganization, Exec Shuffle
May 12, 2016Pernod Ricard has announced a reorganization of its U.S. unit, including a number of new executive appointments.
Pernod Ricard chairman and CEO Alex Ricard said that looking ahead the U.S. marketing team will be reorganized into a series of new brand units focused around key consumption occasions and reporting to SVP, marketing, Pierre Berard, while the commercial team will take “a clear state focus, creating four single-state market entities, three multi-state divisions and a dedicated chains division, supported by a route-to-market ‘center of excellence.’”
Among the executives appointed to new roles, Jeff Agdern, currently Pernod USA’s SVP, wines & Champagnes, will become SVP, new brand ventures, a “soon-to-be-established incubation division that will redefine how future growth brands are built.” Agdern will be replaced by James Slack, currently vice president, marketing at Pernod Ricard China. Meanwhile, Dan Denisoff, currently SVP, operations, will leave Pernod USA June 30, and Jim Stanski, VP, operations for Hiram Walker in Canada, will now add responsibility for the U.S. Also, Jonas Tahlin, CEO of Absolut Elyx, will become a member of the Pernod USA executive committee, keeping his current title and responsibilities.
Pernod had previously announced that Paul Duffy will be taking over for current Pernod USA CEO Bryan Fry onJuly 1, and that Julien Hemard will become chief commercial officer, a newly created position.
Under Pernod USA’s new marketing organization, Absolut and Beefeater will form one division, while The Glenlivet, Redbreast, Midleton and Powers will comprise another. Other groupings include Jameson and Altos; Malibu, Kahlua and Seagram’s; and Avion, Martell, Chivas Regal and Royal Salute.
