•Asheville, North Carolina-based Thirsty Monk Pub & Brewery has acquired fellow Asheville craft brewer French Broad Brewery, including the brand and operations, for an undisclosed sum. Established in 2001, French Broad’s brewing, kegging, canning and bottling facility has enough capacity to continue handling French Broad’s production as well as Thirsty Monk’s core lineup. The French Broad site brings Thirsty Monk’s holdings to a total of five Asheville-area pub, cocktail bar and production facilities. Founded in 2008, Thirsty Monk’s beers include Belgian CocoNorm, Cherry Gose, Euro Monk Euro Lager, Saint Norm Hopped Tripel and Weedeater Wit, among others.

•Paula’s Texas Spirits, based in Austin, has added a Grapefruit Liqueur to its portfolio, joining Paula’s Texas Orange and Lemon liqueurs. The new entry is made with Ruby Red grapefruit from the Rio Grande Valley. Distributed by RNDC, Paula’s Texas Grapefruit Liqueur (27% abv) is retailing at about $18 in Texas at chains like Twin Liquors and Goody Goody Liquors, and is also present in a number of independent retail accounts.
