Exclusive: Quintessential To Import Argentina’s Pascual Toso

May 31, 2016

Napa-based importer and marketer Quintessential is set to augment its Argentina portfolio with the addition of the Pascual Toso brand on an exclusive basis, effective tomorrow. Quintessential will import Pascual Toso wines ranging in price from around $12-$80, including Pascual Toso Estate, Barrancas Toso, Pascual Toso Reserve, Pascual Toso Alta, Pascual Toso Finca Pederal, Magdalena Toso and Toso Brut, which is one of the leading sparkling wines sold in Argentina.

Owned by the Llorente family, Mendoza-based Pascual Toso was previously imported by Guarachi Wine Partners. Quintessential co-owner Dennis Kreps described the brand as a good example of the “high-quality, appellation-specific, terroir-driven wines” that are currently driving growth in the import market. Quintessential’s existing Argentina stable includes the Bodega Valentin, Bianchi, New Age, Sensual and LTU labels.

For Quintessential, the addition of Pascual Toso marks continuing expansion. Most prominently, the company took on U.S. import rights to Beaujolais’ Georges Duboeuf on January 1, which had been with Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits for three decades. Other recent additions include the French rosés of Chateau Ferry Lacombe and Spain’s Bodegas Fariña.
