•Breakthru Beverage has expanded its craft and imported beer business in the Colorado market with the acquisition of distributor C.R. Goodman. Operating in the state since 2006, C.R. Goodman distributes craft brands such as Left Hand, Upslope, Stone, Dogfish Head, Firestone Walker, Boulevard, Bristol, Victory, Funkwerks and Odd 13. Breakthru Colorado’s existing craft beer portfolio includes Odell, Avery, Great Divide, Denver Beer, Ska and Guinness, among others. Breakthru was created earlier this year when prominent wine and spirits wholesalers Charmer Sunbelt and Wirtz Beverage joined forces.

•Hood River, Oregon’s Full Sail Brewing is releasing 8 Pound Pale Fresh Hop Ale as part of its Brewmaster Reserve series. The 5.6%-abv small-batch offering features Magnum hops from this year’s harvest and eight pounds of fresh hops per barrel. Full Sail’s Brewmaster Reserve 8 Pound Pale Fresh Hop Ale is available from late September through October in 12-ounce bottles and on draft. Other offerings from Full Sail include Amber, IPA and Session Lager. Full Sail is the 31st-largest U.S. craft brewer, according to the Brewers Association. Last year, the formerly employee-owned company agreed to be acquired by Oregon Craft Brewers Co., composed of local Oregon investors and San Francisco-based Encore Consumer Capital.
