SABMiller Shareholders Approve Acquisition By A-B InBev, Creating Unparalleled Brewing Force

September 28, 2016

Anheuser-Busch InBev’s long pursuit of top brewing rival SABMiller will be completed, as SABMiller shareholders today voted in favor of the $100 billion-plus acquisition. With approval now in hand, A-B InBev expects the combination of the two companies to be finalized on October 10, following a delisting of SABMiller shares on the London Stock Exchange on October 6. Going forward, the merged entity will continue to be known as Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV. Its share of the global beer market will exceed 30%, according to Impact Databank. —Daniel Marsteller
