•San Diego’s Ballast Point, part of the Constellation Brands portfolio, is introducing its first bottled nitro beer, Red Velvet Nitro Stout. Red Velvet (5.5% abv) is an oatmeal stout brewed with beets and chocolate, which pours a deep red color. According to Ballast Point, the addition of nitrogen to the brew results in a creamy mouthfeel reminiscent of icing. The limited edition beer is rolling out now in bottled six-packs across the country.

•Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Tattersall Distilling Company is adding four new states to its footprint to kick off 2017. Tattersall recently launched in Indiana with Indiana Wholesale Wine & Liquor, and will debut in North Dakota (Ed Phillips & Sons of North Dakota), Iowa (Johnson Brothers of Iowa) and Illinois (Legacy Spirits) in the next month, expanding its distribution territory to nine states The craft distiller is already present in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska and Nevada. Tattersall, which began distributing in 2015, has an extensive craft spirits portfolio that varies by state. In its home market of Minnesota, it distributes 21 products, including gin, vodka, cordials, absinthe and other styles.

•Sweden’s Brännland Cider is entering the U.S. via a new distribution partnership with New York-based Skurnik Wines. Skurnik initially will handle Brännland’s ice cider in three states: New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Brännland, which makes cider using 100% Swedish apples, launched the first vintage of its flagship ice cider in 2012. The brand joins Skurnik’s existing portfolio of more than 500 wine and spirits producers from around the world.

•Boulder, Colorado-based Upslope Brewing is replacing its original Upslope Pale Ale with a new Citra Pale Ale, effective February 1. The new Citra offering (5.8% abv) will be available in 12-ounce canned six-packs, 12-packs and on draft, as well as in Upslope’s Mix Boxes, across the brewer’s footprint, which includes Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Wyoming and Montana. Upslope’s other flagship beers include India Pale Ale, Brown Ale, Craft Lager and Imperial India Pale Ale.
