•William Grant & Sons is expanding its Ancho Reyes Verde chile liqueur into several new markets following a successful test run in New York last fall. This month, Ancho Reyes Verde ($33 a 750-ml.) is rolling out in California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois and Florida. Ancho Reyes Verde joins the brand’s Original liqueur—made with late-harvested, sun-dried ancho chiles—in the range. Verde, by contrast, is made with chiles that are harvested earlier, while still green, and then fire-roasted.

•Quintessential Brands is introducing a limited edition 10-year-old single malt Irish whiskey under its Dubliner brand in the U.S. The Dubliner 10-year-old (42% abv) was matured in Kentucky Bourbon casks and is being distributed across 25 U.S. markets, retailing at around $50 a 750-ml. The Dubliner brand is imported to the U.S. by Minnesota-based Prestige Beverage Group.

•Amid aggressive bidding not seen in some French categories since 2014, Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. in Chicago kicked off the year with a $5.6 million sale that surpassed pre-sale estimates of $3.6-$5.4 million. Some 57% of the lots exceeded their high estimates, and more than 1,100 bidders from the U.S. and overseas participated. Highlights included the sale of six bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2002 La Tâche for $17,925 (exceeding an estimate of $10,000-$15,000) and a 12-bottle case of 1982 Château Latour Bordeaux for $21,510 (estimated at $14,000 to $20,000). Some 31 lots of Château Mouton Rothschild from various vintages sold for nearly $221,000, just above the $215,220 high estimate. Hart Davis’s next event is a three-day Internet-only auction from March 1 to 3, followed by an all-Burgundy auction on the weekend of April 1.
