Gallo Expands Import Portfolio, Adding Italy’s Argiano

E.&J. Gallo continues to bolster its imported wine stable, adding Italy’s Argiano to its upscale LUX Wines division, effective June 1. Gallo will handle Argiano’s Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and its two acclaimed IGT wines, Solengo and Non Confunditur. Argiano, whose Montalcino estate dates to the 16th century, has received more than 35 scores of 90 points or above from Wine Spectator over the years. Gallo’s LUX Wines unit also includes Allegrini, Poggio al Tesoro, Pieropan and Renato Ratti. —Daniel Marsteller
