April 28, 2017•California’s Bear Republic Brewing has announced the Legacy Series, which elevates four of its less common brews to seasonal status and gives fans more information about when each will be available. Bear Republic has named Red Rocket Ale (available April-June), Hop Rod Rye (July-September), Peter Brown Tribute Ale (October-December) and Big Bear Black Stout (January-March) as the initial beers in the series. These beers will be available on draft and in 22-ounce bottles throughout Bear Republic’s distribution area.
•Destihl Brewery is launching the second beer in its seasonal sour series. Destihl Wild Sour Blueberry Gose is a 5.2%-abv kettle-soured ale with blueberries. The initial offering in the series, Flanders Red, was released in January, and the company will announce the remaining two seasonals later this year. All of Destihl’s sours are made using the brewery’s house-harvested culture, gathered from the Central Illinois air. Wild Sour Blueberry Gose will be available on draft and in four-packs of 12-ounce cans throughout Destihl’s 19-state distribution area beginning in May.
