Trinchero Names Bob Torkelson As CEO, Roger Trinchero To Remain Chairman

May 17, 2017

Trinchero Family Estates (TFE) has named Bob Torkelson as president and CEO, effective immediately. Torkelson, who was previously president and chief operating officer of TFE, now takes over the CEO title from Roger Trinchero, who remains chairman of the company.

Roger Trinchero, whose parents founded Sutter Home winery more than 70 years ago, originally hired Torkelson in December of 1996 as vice president of sales in the Central Division, based in Chicago. In 2004, Torkelson was promoted to president of Trinchero Family Estates.

Since then, Torkelson has helped drive major expansion at TFE, whose U.S. volume roughly doubled in size to more than 17 million cases from 2005-2016, according to Impact Databank.

In a statement, Roger Trinchero said, “It’s time for me to step aside and hand the reins to someone who has not only gained our family’s trust, but the individual who I believe is most responsible for our company’s success over the last 13 years. I’m confident that choosing Bob Torkelson to captain our ship towards our family’s vision is the best decision we can make.”
