•The PlumpJack Group has opened an 82-acre Howell Mountain vineyard, winemaking and hospitality facility as an extension of the group’s CADE Estate Winery. The vineyard is planted to 74 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as three acres of Sauvignon Blanc, three and a half acres of Malbec and one acre of Petit Verdot. The new winery will feature tastings of new CADE Estate releases as well as rare library vintages and large format bottlings. Tastings will be held outdoors until the winery, which is undergoing renovations, is complete. Construction is slated to finish in spring 2018. PlumpJack acquired the Howell Mountain site from the Stotesbery family last fall.

•C. Mondavi & Family has named Judd Wallenbrock president and CEO, effective June 19. Wallenbrock has had a 35-year career in the wine industry, including time as COO of DeLoach Vineyards, president of Michel-Schlumberger Estate and vice president, global brand development at Robert Mondavi Winery, among other roles. Wallenbrock succeeds John Lennon, who has been interim CEO since November. C. Mondavi & Family co-proprietors Marc Mondavi and Peter Mondavi Jr. said Wallenbrock will lead the 74-year-old company’s efforts as it pursues a five-year strategic plan to pursue significant growth. C. Mondavi’s brands include Charles Krug Winery, CK Mondavi and Family, Purple Heart and Divining Rod.

•The Boisset Collection’s Raymond Vineyards has purchased St. Helena’s Bartolucci Vineyard for an undisclosed sum. Located near the Raymond winery, the 55-acre estate comprises 47 acres planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The purchase, which follows Boisset’s 2015 acquisition of St. Helena-based Ticen Ranch, brings Raymond Vineyards’ total Napa Valley holdings to 380 acres.

•Myx Fusions has launched a new Sinner Red Blend in test markets across the U.S. The semi-sweet wine, a blend of California-grown Ruby Cabernet, Montepulciano, Rubired and Cabernet Sauvignon, retails at $10 a 750-ml. Currently available in Virginia, North and South Carolina, Illinois, Georgia, New Jersey, Missouri, Michigan, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio and Kentucky, Myx Sinner Red is slated to be in national distribution by the end of 2017. Myx was founded by entertainer Nicki Minaj along with former Foster’s exec Peter Reaske.
