June 16, 2017•Beam Suntory Inc. is commemorating Knob Creek’s 25-year history with the release of a new 25th Anniversary Bourbon. Billed as a more intense expression of Knob Creek, the single-barrel whiskey is bottled unfiltered and at cask strength. The whiskey’s age and ABV vary by bottle, falling between 12-13 years and 60%-62.5% respectively, according to the company. Knob Creek 25th Anniversary Bourbon is now available in limited quantities across the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $129.99. Last year, Knob Creek was up 9% to 379,000 nine-liter cases in the U.S., according to Impact Databank.
•Australia’s Accolade Wines is expanding its California portfolio with the launch of Outlot, a new Sonoma wine brand. Rolling out exclusively in the U.S., the Outlot range features a Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, as well as an Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The lineup, which retails at $18.99-$24.99 a 750-ml., joins brands including Geyser Peak, Atlas Peak and XYZin in Accolade’s existing premium California stable.
•Domaine Select Wine & Spirits has appointed Robert Falvo to the newly created role of national sales manager for the company’s imports division. He will report directly to DSWS president Evis Savvides. An industry veteran with over 17 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry, Falvo most recently served as senior vice president of sales at LCF Wines.
