Wine Spectator: Burgundy’s Louis Jadot Buys Domaine Prieur-Brunet in Santenay

July 21, 2017

Maison Louis Jadot, one of Burgundy’s top négociant houses, purchased Domaine Prieur-Brunet in Santenay this week. The deal includes 44.5 acres of premiers crus and village parcels in Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay, Pommard and Beaune. The acquisition brings the total area of vineyards owned by Jadot to 346 acres. The sale price was not disclosed.

Jadot has not decided yet if the new vineyards will be bottled separately or incorporated into existing labels. The company currently produces about 850,000 cases annually from its own vineyards and purchased fruit and wine. Wine Spectator has more.
