•The Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) has unveiled the WSWA Women’s Leadership Council, a new educational, networking and professional development group. The Women’s Leadership Council is led by chair Dina Opici of Opici Family Distributing and vice chair Philana Bouvier of Young’s Market Company, with executives from Southern Glazer’s, Great Lakes Wine & Spirits, RNDC, Badger Liquor Company, Breakthru Beverage and Martignetti Companies among the group’s advisory board members. On September 14-15, the organization will host its inaugural conference event in Washington D.C., featuring discussions and presentations from WSWA Government Affairs staff, women chiefs of staff for Senators and Representatives and senior Google executive Lee Dunn, among other programming.

•Luxco’s Lord Calvert Canadian whisky has debuted the second edition of its Ducks Unlimited decanter. The 2017 Ducks Unlimited decanter features a yellow Labrador Retriever standing in water, holding a canvasback duck in its mouth. The decanter is filled with Lord Calvert Canadian Whisky, a blend of distilled rye, corn, wheat and barley mash aged for 36 months. Lord Calvert partnered with Ducks Unlimited—the world’s leading wetlands and waterfowl conservation—last year. Priced at $99 a 750-ml., the new decanter (also available unfilled for $65) will be available nationwide in September.

•Mezcales De Leyenda has released four new, high-end mezcals in limited quantities. The company has released Grandes Leyendas ($249.99), a 43%-abv mezcal made from Maguey Papalote/Agave Cupreata; Grandes Unicos ($499.99), a 45%-abv mezcal distilled from Agave Montana; Reservas De La Biosfera ($319.99), 47%-abv mezcal are made Marmorata and Macrocantha agave; and Cementerio Mezcalero ($279.99), a 48%-abv spirit distilled from Agave Americana Sahuayensis. The four offerings will be available across 15 markets, with a portion of their proceeds benefiting various environmental or social causes. Mezcales De Leyenda is handled in the U.S. by M.S. Walker.
