•New Belgium Brewing has revamped its special release portfolio with three new series: Wood Cellar Reserve, Belgian Reserve and Belgian Collection. The Wood Cellar series launched last month with a brewery-only beer, Le Kreik Noir, which is now followed by Single Foeder Oscar No. 65, an 8.5%-abv dark sour that aged a year in Missouri white oak. The sour is available at New Belgium’s breweries in 750-ml. bottles, with 375-ml. bottles to receive a limited release in select markets at the end of August. The brewery has kicked off its Belgian Reserve series with Sour Saison, a 7%-abv blend of farmhouse and sour ales. It’s now available in 12- and 22-ounce bottles and on draft. Finally, the Belgian Collection revamps two New Belgium classics: Abbey is a 7%-abv Belgian-style Dubbel, and Trippel is an 8.5%-abv Belgian ale. Both are available in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on draft.

•Boston Beer Co.’s Angry Orchard cider has debuted Understood in Motion 02, a collaboration with E.Z. Orchards cider in Salem, Oregon. Understood in Motion 01 was made with apple varieties including Bittersweet Muscadet de Lense and Marie Menard from Oregon, and heirloom, acid-forward Gold Rush and Northern Spy from New York. The 8%-abv cider underwent 100% wild fermentation and was partially fermented in ex-Cognac barrels. Retailing at $25 a 750-ml., Understood in Motion 02 will be available at select Oregon retailers and at Angry Orchard Cider House in Walden, New York.

•Escondido, California-based Stone Brewing has unveiled its Stone 21st Anniversary Hail to the Hop Thief Double IPA. Made with Magnum, Pekko and Mosaic hops, the 9.8%-abv brew features a blend of fruit notes including orange, peach, grapefruit and pineapple flavors. Hail to the Hop Thief Double IPA is available nationwide in 22-ounce bottles and on draft. The IPA marks the latest entry in Stone Brewing’s commemorative Anniversary Ales series.
