•Los Angeles-based Greenbar Distillery has launched City Bright gin. Inspired by the Los Angeles food scene, City Bright combines a variety of ingredients from different cultures, including Sichuan peppercorn, cardamom, ancho chiles, peppermint, basil, star anise, juniper and others. Priced at $29.99 a 750-ml., the 42%-abv gin will debut in California this month, with nationwide distribution to follow in early 2018. Greenbar’s portfolio also includes City Amber gin, Tru vodka, Fruitlab liqueur and Slow Hand whiskey, among other brands.

•Michigan’s Blake Farms, best known for hard cider, has introduced Blake’s Orchard Ales. The company is positioning the 5%-abv fruit ales as a craft alternative to MillerCoors’ Redd’s brand of fruit ales. Blake’s Strawberry Ale and Apple Ale are now available in Michigan, with Ohio and Illinois soon to follow. While the company is branching out into the fruit ale segment, it says Blake’s Hard Cider is on pace to grow 89% in 2017, after gaining entry into chains like Kroger and Harris Teeter.
