•New Paltz, New York-based Coppersea Distilling has appointed Blueprint Brands, a division of The Sheehan Family Cos., as its distributor in New York, with more markets to follow next year. Blueprint will begin selling Coppersea’s Excelsior Bourbon, Bonticou Crag Straight Malt Rye and the Big Angus Green Malt across the state on December 1. Blueprint distributes to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Southern California, Maryland and Washington D.C.

•St. Paul, Minnesota-based Summit Brewing Co. has released Westie 7th, the latest entry in its limited edition Unchained Series. A Belgian-style dark ale, Westie 7th is brewed with a blend of specialty malts, Hallertau Mittlefruh and Saaz hops, and Belgian candy syrup, and is finished with Trappist-style ale yeast. The 7.5%-abv offering, which features fruit, caramel, fig and raisin notes, will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and on draft later this month. Launched in 2009, the Unchained Series allows Summit brewers to create innovative and experimental brews without restrictions. Summit Brewing has a current footprint spanning five states within the upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions.
