November 17, 2017•Gem & Bolt Mezcal has added industry veteran John Esposito to its board of directors. Esposito, who has four decades of spirits industry experience across all three tiers, was previously CEO at High West, and before that served as CEO at Stoli Group USA, Bacardi North America and Moët Hennessy USA. In addition to joining Gem & Bolt’s board, Esposito also remains chairman of Real McCoy Spirits. Meanwhile, Gem & Bolt has also added entrepreneur Ben Pundole to its board, and says it will soon name a new CEO to replace the departed Lisa Derman. Concurrently, the brand has announced plans to enter the Colorado market through Breakthru Beverage, joining Texas, California, New York and New Jersey in its distribution footprint.
•Beam Suntory has named Vince Ambrosino as senior vice president, chief strategy and technology officer, effective January 1. Ambrosino is currently executive officer and division COO of the global business development department at Beam Suntory parent company Suntory Holdings. Prior to joining Suntory Holdings in 2015, he led Beam Suntory’s global financial planning, analysis and treasury functions and served as interim CFO. For his new role, Ambrosino will relocate to Chicago from Tokyo, and report to Beam Suntory chairman and CEO Matt Shattock.
