•Shelly B. Margolis, who was instrumental in making Pennsylvania one of the largest convention and hospitality purchasers of wine and spirits worldwide, passed away December 17 at the age of 83. Operating Margolis Wine & Spirits with his wife Harriet from 1964 to 1999, Margolis forged friendships with industry titans like Robert Mondavi and John Mariani of Castello Banfi, and was recognized as “Ambassador of Philadelphia” by former mayor Ed Rendell for his efforts to expand economic opportunity through the hospitality industry.
