•Seattle-based Counterbalance Brewing Co. has released seasonal offering Samsparilla Stout. Brewed with Indian sarsaparilla and fresh vanilla beans, Samsparilla Stout is at 7.1% abv and includes 2-Row Pale, Roasted Barley, Black Patent and Caramel malts. It’s available on draft and in 375-ml. bottles. Also new from Counterbalance this month is Kushetka Imperial Stout. Packaged in 12-ounce cans, Kushetka is made with flaked and roasted barley and features chocolate flavors backed by a strong hop presence. Counterbalance beers are distributed to bars, restaurants and retail locations throughout Washington by Vinum Importing & Distributing.

•Texas-based New Braunfels Brewing Co. is extending distribution to the West Coast. Known for its sour beers, New Braunfels has launched in Portland, Oregon with Point Blank Distributing, and in Los Angeles with Pipeline Craft Distributing. The West Coast expansion comes following New Braunfels’ entry into Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and East Texas via FullClip Craft Distributors earlier this year. The portfolio is also present in the Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, College Station and Fredericksburg markets. New Braunfels’ top seller is its 85% white wheat sour beer, Blondine.
