•Pilot Point, Texas-based Western Son Distillery saw its namesake vodka brand more than double in size last year to 150,000 cases. Growth was driven by the core unflavored vodka, which accounts for more than half of sales. Launched in 2011, the Western Son brand also includes Blueberry, Prickly Pear, Watermelon and Cucumber flavored vodkas. Currently distributed to 30 states, Western Son plans to expand into more markets in the western part of the U.S. this year. The company’s portfolio also includes an eponymous gin brand and Red River whiskies.

•Constellation-owned Ballast Point is planning a new tasting room at Anaheim, California’s Disneyland resort, expected to open late this year. The 9,350-square-foot space will house a three-barrel “research and development” brewery, New American restaurant and outdoor beer garden. The new location will mark Ballast Point’s seventh location in Southern California and first in Orange County. In addition to its California outposts, Ballast Point—known for its flagship Sculpin IPA—operates a brewery and tasting room in Daleville, Virginia and is also planning to open a brewery and kitchen in Chicago looking ahead.
