•Glenmorangie has extended its Private Edition series with the launch of Glenmorangie Spìos, the distillery’s first single malt matured in American ex-rye casks. The non-chill filtered expression is bottled at 46% abv and available at select outlets worldwide, retail priced at $99 a 750-ml. Spìos marks the ninth annual release in the brand’s Private Edition lineup, joining previous entries such as Glenmorangie Bacalta (2017), Milsean (2016) and Tùsail (2015). Glenmorangie, which recently unveiled a multi-million dollar distillery expansion plan, is the fourth-largest single malt Scotch brand in the U.S. at more than 135,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.

•California-based Rutherford Wine Company has launched a new Bourbon barrel–aged wine called Four Virtues. Made from 100% Lodi-sourced Zinfandel grapes, Four Virtues Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel was first aged in French and American oak barrels, then finished in Bourbon barrels for one to three months. 5,000 cases of Four Virtues were produced for the inaugural 2016 vintage. The 16.8%-abv offering comes packaged in a whiskey-inspired bottle and is available nationwide, retail priced at $25 a 750-ml. Rutherford Wine Co.’s portfolio also includes Rutherford Ranch Winery, Scott Family Estate and Predator Wines, among other labels.
