Market Watch Leader Hank Robinson Passes Away at 96
February 5, 2018Hank Robinson, who helped build Denver-based Argonaut Wine & Liquor into a major player in the Colorado retail market, died January 31 at the age of 96 after a long illness. A Market Watch Leader along with his brother Jack, Robinson acquired what was then a corner liquor store with his father Lazar in 1965. Today, Argonaut is the largest beverage alcohol store in metro Denver at 40,000 square feet and stocks 17,000 SKUs. Robinson still engaged with customers on the retail floor into his 90s, and was known for his generosity in contributing to non-profit organizations—including schools, churches and cultural institutions—across the Denver landscape. Robinson’s son-in-law Ron Vaughn, also a Market Watch Leader, now heads Argonaut as co-owner and COO.—Dan Marsteller
