•Palm Bay International has added Australia’s McGuigan Wines to its import portfolio. The McGuigan brand includes its new The Plan range ($11.99 a 750-ml.), which features a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and red blend sourced from southeastern Australia, as well as its Icon tier, comprising both Hand Made Shiraz ($40) and a Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz blend called The Philosophy ($125). Both ranges are currently rolling out nationwide through Palm Bay’s distribution network. McGuigan Wines is owned by Australian Vintage Ltd.

•Teeling Whiskey Co. is set to launch its ultra-rare Teeling 34-year-old Irish whiskey on March 1. The single malt whiskey was distilled in 1983 and was matured in ex-Bourbon barrels before being bottled at 40.9% abv. Thirty-eight bottles will be available at select retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $5,000 apiece. Last year, Bacardi Ltd. took a minority stake in the brand and became Teeling’s exclusive importer. Teeling depleted approximately 20,000 cases in the U.S. in 2017.

•MillerCoors has launched Two Hats, a 4.2%-abv light beer range that features two flavor options, lime and pineapple. Aimed at the 21-24-year-old demographic, Two Hats is rolling out nationwide in 16-ounce cans that retail at around $5 a six-pack depending on the market. MillerCoors is billing the brand as an alternative to higher-priced craft brews, and as an accessible entry point into the beer category for the younger generation, which has increasingly been favoring wine or spirits over beer in recent years.

•Seattle-based importer Back Bar Project has extended its partnership with Breakthru Beverage to several new markets, including Washington D.C., Florida, Delaware, Maryland and South Carolina. Back Bar and Breakthru were already linked in Illinois, Wisconsin, Nevada and Minnesota. The Back Bar Project portfolio includes Giffard liqueurs, Vermouth Routin and mezcal brands Agave de Cortés, Nuestra Soledad and El Jolgorio.
