February 27, 2018•Diageo’s Johnnie Walker has launched a Jane Walker Edition of Johnnie Walker Black. The new, limited edition bottling features Jane Walker, a female iteration of the brand’s Striding Man mascot. For every bottle of the Jane Walker Edition sold, Johnnie Walker will donate $1 to organizations that advocate for women’s causes, including the Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony Statue Fund, Monumental Women, and She Should Run. The Jane Walker Edition will be available nationwide in March, retail priced at $34 a 750-ml.
•Luxco’s Rebel Yell has rolled out the 2018 iteration of its Single Barrel Bourbon nationwide. The 50%-abv wheated whiskey is aged for 10 years before hand-bottling. Only 2,000 cases of the limited release Bourbon will be available on- and off-premise this year. The whiskey retails for a suggested price of $60 a 750-ml. and a limited number of bottles are being reserved for the Lux Row Distillery’s gift shop, opening this spring. In 2017, the Rebel Yell brand was the 24th largest Bourbon brand in the U.S., depleting 106,000 cases, according to Impact Databank.
