•Mezcal brand El Silencio has expanded its partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to 44 states, dramatically increasing the brand’s distribution footprint. Southern Glazer’s had previously handled El Silencio across 12 markets. A 100%-agave mezcal produced in Oaxaca, Mexico, El Silencio offers both Espadín and Ensamble entries that retail at $40 and $75 a 750-ml., respectively.

•New York-based importer Frederick Wildman & Sons has appointed Derek Blackburn to the role of senior vice president, marketing, effective immediately. Blackburn comes to Frederick Wildman from management consulting corporation BMC Strategic Associates, where he most recently served as senior vice president. Prior to joining BMC, he spent time at Diageo, serving as senior vice president and general manager both in the U.S. and Canada, as well as at Colgate-Palmolive as part of the group’s sales and marketing team.
